This notice is to notify industry that on September 29, 2021, a sole source requirement was awarded to Interpreters and Translators Inc. (ITI), located in Glastonbury VA. ITI provides interpretation services telephonically for those apprehended entering the United States illegally that do not speak English, or in the event an individual detained for questioning does not speak English. Language translation is typically required for aliens detained/arrested at and between Ports of Entry, pending immigration actions that require sworn statements or other detailed declarations in support of judicial review. The translation services is provided for a multitude of languages. The specific language is dictated by the nationality of the detainee. The awarded amount for this requirement is not to exceed $600,000.00. This sole source contract action was awarded under the authority of FAR 8.405-6. The period of performance is for 12 months. The government intends to compete this requirement in the future but will be based on need and shall be solely within the discretion of the Government. Any company who believes they can provide the required services should e-mail their company's capability information along with pricing to the attention of David Banks no later than 3:00p.m. EST, November 8, 2019 at david.m.banks@dhs.gov. Only e-mail responses will be accepted. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining availability to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. A redacted Limited Source Justification is available upon request.
