Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract DLA Distribution, Susquehanna, PA intends to award a contract to perform semiannual preventative and remedial maintenance on Kardex Remstar lektriever software controlled automated medial storage and retrieval system equipment on a sole source basis to V & H Material Handling, LLC (small business). In accordance with FAR 6.203-1 “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements and FAR 13.106-1(b) “soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.” Kardex Remstar is the Original Equipment Manufacturer, which maintains proprietary rights over its lektriever systems, software, and parts. Kardex Remstar has specific territories and there is no open market competition between authorized dealers/distributors. Preventative and remedial maintenance services for the proprietary Kardex Remstar modules may only be performed by Kardex Remstar technicians. V & H Material Handling, LLC is the authorized Kardex Remstar distributor/ dealer for New Cumberland, PA. Interested contractors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 811212 with a small business size standard of $30,000,000.00 and PSC of J074. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. A solicitation will not be issued for this procurement action or posted to the single Government Point of Entry, the SAM.gov website. All responsible sources may respond by submitting qualifications/capabilities statement of the company by December 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. EST to Edward Ruud, via email: edward.ruud@dla.mil for consideration by the agency. If no affirmative responses are received, a purchase order will be awarded to V & H Material Handling, LLC.
