Project Name and Location: Exterior Bronze Door Restoration at the Peoria Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, 100 NE Monroe St. Peoria, IL. 61602. Project Summary Description: The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking to contract the procurement for addressing notable corrosion, oxidation, and UV rays. The original bronze entrance doors are showing signs of severe deterioration. The overall goal of the project is to bring back the original look of the bronze doors all while providing a secure, weathertight assembly. Built in 1938 of limestone and granite, the three-story, 116,000-square-foot Peoria Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse was designed in the Art Modern style. The four original public entrances to the building are similar in design. Each consists of three single leaf bronze doors, below a plate glass transom adorned with a decorative bronze metal grille. The work includes: (a) laser cleaning existing bronze doors, upgrading door hardware, providing new exterior handrails to the main entrance to match the historic nature of the building, and restoring existing light fixtures. (b) Mock-ups for laser cleaning were included as part of the design. These mockups are included in the design documents to show the contractor the level of finish that GSA is seeking. Mock-ups for the contractor will be necessary to determine the skill level of the awarded contractor. The performance period is 60 calendar days upon receipt to Notice to Proceed. The anticipated award is on or about September 2022. The estimated construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code is 712120 with a small business size standard of $7.5 million. No other information is available at this time. If you are an interested party, please provide the following information.
