This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract in accordance with (IAW) FAR 6.302-l(a)(2)(iii). The Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) at Patuxent River, MD, intends to solicit and award a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract type for software customization for the existing MBDVidia Enterprise Server in order to ensure compliance with DOD STIGS. MBDVidia is a standalone software for MBD workflows focusing on CAD data translation and validation. An advanced handling of passwords for authentication to the MBDVidia Enterprise Server is required. This project will implement a method for passwords to be encrypted and remain encrypted at all times until reaching the server, ensuring IA compliance while still supporting the AvPLM integration and automation of STEP/QIF file generation afforded by the MBDVidia product. This Sources Sought notice is not a request for competitive proposals and does not commit the Government to award a contract as a result of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
