Description:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) owns and operates six (4) Learjet Model 60 aircraft that are powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC) model PW305A engines. The FAA Learjet 60 aircraft are type certificated and modified to a Flight Program Operations aircraft to meet special FAA mission requirements. The mission of the Flight Program Operations is to validate the operating parameters of ground based navigation and landing aid facilities and to validate procedures for both ground based and satellite based facilities. The FAA Learjet 60 aircraft must be airworthy, reliable, and maintained for a high level of availability to perform critical flight inspection missions and insure the safety of the flying public.
