Description:

Original Set Aside:

The CCD camera for the 61-inch telescope needs to be thermoelectrically cooled, large area CCD camera for the 61-inch telescope located in Flagstaff Arizona, capable of astronomical observations of CRF targets including stars, galaxies, active galactic nuclei, etc. The CCD should be 4096 X 4108 in scale with a 15-micron pixel pitch or larger, backside-illuminated with high quantum efficiency between 400 and 800 nm, low readout noise, and large well depth (>= 350,000 e-). The CCD must be sensitive between 350 and 1000 nm. Other requirements include: Thermoelectrically-cooled (i.e. does not require a cryogenic cooler or liquid nitrogen). 4096 x 4108-pixel, 15-micron pixel pitch CCD. Backside illuminated CCD detector with deep depletion and fringe suppression. Anti-reflection coated. High QE, ~90%, between 400 and 800 nm and at least 50% at 350 nm and 900 nm. Low read-out noise, 2.1 e- for slow readout mode and < 10 e- for fast readout mode. User definable binning capability. Linearity of 99% or greater. Well depth of at least 350,000 e-. 16-bit digitization. Quad or single amplifier outputs. IRIG GPS with 10 ms time resolution. Low maintenance required, i.e. no vacuum pumping, and a shutter that is field replaceable. Software development kit that is compatible with Windows and Linux to control CCD temperature and shutter operations. Deep cooled to -100 C to ensure extremely low dark current (0.00013 e/pixel/s)
