Description:
Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Radiation Detection Technology Branch (RDTB) intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) N0016721R0012 to design, build, test, document, and deliver Qty. 56 Near-Background Survey Meters (NBSMs) with associated data such as test reports, technical manuals, and training. The NBSM is a specialized Radiation Detection, Indication, and Computation (RADIAC) instrument used by the Navy in an occupational safety application. The instruments will be used to obtain background radiation surveys on ships and facilities. A request for information (RFI) was issued through the Federal Business Opportunities website under the listing FBO_NBSI_020221. The announcement was open for 14 days. The posting date was February 2, 2021 with a response date was February 15, 2021. A Draft Statement of Work (SOW) and item specifications were attached to the RFI. Based upon the market research conducted, the Request for Proposal (RFP) associated with the subject effort is expected to be solicited under North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code 334519 – “Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing”, size standard of 500 employees. The PSC will be 6665 Hazard-Detecting Instruments and Apparatus. This notice is not an RFP and a contract award will not be made as a result of this posting. This notice is for the purpose of informing industry that the Government anticipates a solicitation will be posted to sam.gov on or around 23 December 2021 under Full & Open competition on an unrestricted basis. Interested parties are encouraged to monitor the sam.gov regularly for the RFP and/or updates regarding its status. Please note that no Government response will be provided to questions/comments submitted in response to this notice and respondents will NOT be notified of the results of the pre-solicitation notice.
