Original Set Aside:

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into sole source negotiations with FARO Technologies, Inc., located in Lake Mary, FL, for the calibration of FARO Vantage Laser Trackers (Part Number (P/N) 810-000093-020) prior to initial outfitting to the fleet. The FARO Vantage Laser Tracker is support equipment which measures large parts, molds, assemblies and machines at various Unites States Navy (USN) O, I and D level depot sites in support of the E-2D Hawkeye. There is also a requirement for FARO to upgrade any Laser Trackers that do not pass calibration and return them to Ready for Issue (RFI) condition. FARO Technologies, Inc. owns the proprietary data and software to calibrate and upgrade the Vantage Laser Trackers. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate this requirement under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) (https://www.sam.gov) is mandatory for consideration. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
