The 673d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska is seeking sources for Maintenance and Service of the Whitaker Datastroyer 240 Disintegrator at the JBER Medical Treatment Facility under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1). This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) is pursuant to FAR PART 10 in support of Market Research being conducted by the United States Air Force to identify potential sources to perform continuous support and determine if this effort can be competitive. This is not a Request for Proposal (or solicitation) or an indication that a contractual commitment will exist for this requirement. The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market research. No funds are available to fund the information solicited. The Government will use this information to determine the best future acquisition strategy for this procurement. Program Information 673 MDSS/SCM has a requirement for maintenance and service of the Whitaker Datastroyer 240 Disintegrator at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) Hospital, Alaska. This will be Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order with one (1) year base period and four (4) one-year periods, IWA 52.217-9 "Option to Extend the Term of the Contract.” In addition, an optional six (6) month extension IAW 52.217-8 “Option to Extend Services.” Capabilities Description The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and tools for the preventive maintenance of the Whitaker Brothers Datastroyer 240 Disintegrator at the 673 Medical Facility located at JBER, Alaska. Preventive maintenance for the 240 Disintegrator consists of the cutting chamber and the evacuation/electrical systems. Preventive maintenance for the shredder require the standards found in the operation and maintenance manual for the Model 240 Disintegrator. The contractor shall have the proper equipment and knowledge of factory specifications to work on the 240 Disintegrator and maintain DoD compliance. (draft PWS attached.)
