Jesse Brown VA Medical Center Radiology Department is requesting (4) i-STAT Wireless Analyzer with 3-year service. Jesse Brown cannot accept any i-STAT Wireless Analyzer without the 3-year service prebuilt into the purchase price of the i-STAT Wireless Analyzer. This equipment is needed as this equipment permits point of care testing of renal function parameters within a few minutes. This will avoid sending patients to the lab for pre-contrast renal function measurements, which commonly take an hour or longer to obtain, limiting our ability to scan patients at or around their scheduled exam times and decrease workload for lab personnel. In addition, this will facilitate obtaining renal function parameters for Emergency Department patients, allowing for more efficient throughput from the Emergency Department and contributing to decreased length of stay in the Emergency Department. This will also help expedite walk in patient who need imaging exam with contrast media to have blood test available on spot to increase patient care in timely fashion.
