SPECIAL NOTICE Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 10, 260 E University Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45219, intends to negotiate a sole source contract to Melling LLC under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) sole source procurement made under the authority of Other Than Full and Open Competition IAW FAR 6.302-1 and 41 USC 3304(a)(1) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The associated NAICS code for this is 339112. The vendor will be Melling LLC, 658 S Columbus Street, Alexandria, VA 22314-4156 who is classified as a service-disabled veteran owned small business concern (SDVOSB). It is the Government’s belief that the proposed candidate is only one authorized to maintain their own required capabilities with their equipment to successfully meet this requirement. This procurement consists of procuring the following items: Description of requirements: Sonablate 3G HIFU Targeted Prostate Ablation System This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. No solicitation documents are available; however, any SDVOSB or VOSB firm that believes it that they can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in enough detail to demonstrate compliance. Information must be sent electronically to dwight.petsche@va.gov. Any responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government as to whether to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses must be received no later than 5:00 Eastern PM on November 9, 2021 to be considered.
