Description:

Original Set Aside:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisitions, intend to award a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), to Life Technologies Corporation-Part of Thermofisher Scientific, 3175 Staley Road Grand Island, New York 14072 USA, to purchase M7000 Microscope. The Invitrogen™ EVOS™ M7000 Imaging System is a fully-automated, digital, inverted multi-channel fluorescence and transmitted light microscope. Designed to meet demanding requirements over a broad range of applications, the M7000 supports high-resolution mosaic tiling, multi-position well scanning and timelapse studies of fluorescent or chromogenic samples. The M700 requested are needed to both match existing workflows on other teams within Division, and fit within very confined spaces in a BSL3E lab. Other equipment would require more extensive process qualification (PQ) as this equipment will be used in GLP applications. Therefore, it is not in the best interest of the Government to use a different vendor as it would cause harm (financial and otherwise) that would not be reasonable. No request for quote will be issued based upon this notice of intent. This synopsis ends in 5 days in accordance with FAR 5.203 (a)(1). Any interested companies are welcome to submit their ability to provide the specified products via email to srehan@cdc.gov. Please include reference number (2022-60877) and respond by November 24, 2021 at 8 AM EST. Responses received will be considered for future procurements. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
