Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Best Overall Proposal Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: TITLE Dismantling of Île-des-Esquimaux wharf and building remains, and seabed remediation PROJECT DESCRIPTION The wharf dismantling and seabed remediation project consists in removing all residual remains of the form port facilities, namely the wharf and federal buildings, as well as dredging the contaminated sediment on the federal water plot around and beneath the wharf. WORK DESCRIPTION The purpose of the Work is to restore the Department of Fisheries and Oceans’ (DFO) property to a condition that is acceptable for the environment and human safety, according to applicable criteria. Work includes, without being limited to: .1 preparatory work: obtaining permits and certificates of authorization required for Work, inspecting existing site conditions, identifying conditions that could affect execution of Work. .2 mobilizing and demobilizing the various equipment; .3 site organization; .4 containment of work that takes place in the water and other environmental protection measures; .5 dredging and management of contaminated sediment; .6 wharf demolition, including creosote-treated wood and concrete elements; .7 removal, sorting and washing of stones from wharf for reuse; .8 transporting by barge and disposal of creosote-treated wood at an authorized disposal site; .9 transporting by barge and disposal of concrete from wharf at an authorized disposal site; .10 transporting by barge and disposal of contaminated sediment at an authorized disposal site; .11 removal, transport and disposal of waste from wharf and federal property; .12 protection of shoreline along wharf with salvaged stone; .13 backfilling of dredged areas with salvaged stone; .14 final site grading and cleaning. SITE VISIT / BIDDERS CONFERENCE There will be no site visit. It’s the bidders’ responsibility to obtain all the information relating to the conditions that may affect the performance of the work. A MS TEAMS virtual bidders conference will be held on December 13, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
