Title: Canadian Coast Guard Victoria Search and Rescue (SAR) Float Location: Victoria, BC Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Bidders must not submit hard-copy bids outside of these times. Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Work Description: The principal works to be executed and for which all materials, plant and labour are to be supplied by the Contractor as shown on in the plans and in the specifications: .1 Mobilization to site. .2 Receiving, blasting and re-coating, transportation to site and installation of vehicular steel ramp. .3 Receiving, transportation to site and installation of concrete float. .4 Supply, fabrication and installation of abutment structure including approach slab and foundation. .5 Supply, fabrication and installation of wave fence. .6 Supply, fabrication and installation of steel pipe mooring piles, pile wells and fendering for concrete float. .7 Supply, fabrication and installation of electrical works. .8 Supply, fabrication and installation of mechanical works. .9 Supply, fabrication and installation of civil works. The work is located at the Canadian Coast Guard Victoria Base located at 25 Huron Street, Victoria, BC. Optional Site Visit: Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. There will be an optional site visit on December 14, 2021 at 10:00 am PST, at the Canadian Coast Guard Victoria Base located at 25 Huron Street, Victoria, BC. All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, hard hat and safety boots which meets WCB standards, for the site visit. COVID Protocols Masks must be brought to the site visit and are required to be worn when a distance of 2 meters cannot be maintained between people. Travel to and from the site is at the Bidder’s own expense and risk. Bidders are responsible for familiarizing themselves and complying with public health protocols in effect for COVID-19, including travel restrictions. This site visit is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Supplier Personnel. The person(s) who attend must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccine(s), or, for personnel that are unable to be vaccinated due to a certified medical contraindication, religion or other prohibited grounds of discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act, subject to accommodation and mitigation measures that have been presented to and approved by Canada. Value of Project: To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $5,000,001 to $10,000,000.
